[ENG] The present study was particularly intended to demonstrate the antioxidant activity of the fruit pulp of Psidium guajava Linn. (Myrtaceae) and the fruit peel of Musa x paradisiaca L. (Musaceae).

The first step of this work is to make the preliminary phytochemical screening of the
hydroethanolic extracts of these parties of fruit. In the second place, the antiradical activities of these extracts have been evaluated according to the method in 2.2 -diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyle (DPPH) and their antioxidant powers have been compared to the reference antioxidant inhibitory concentration IC50 value of the ascorbic acid. The chemical families of substances responsible for antioxidant activities are finally determined by the method "bioautography ".
Our results have allowed us to find that the fruit peel of Musa x paradisiaca (Musaceae) holds a strong antioxidant power with its inhibitory concentration value IC50 of 2.04μg/mL, exceeding even that of the ascorbic acid (IC50=2.05μg/mL). The fruit pulp of Psidium guajava (Myrtaceae) showed a concentration IC50 value of 14.97μg/mL. The results obtained in the phytochemical screening showed
that these natural products are particularly interesting by their strong powers antioxidants due to their richness in antioxidant substances. Their consumption may help limit oxidative damage in the human body.
