    [ EN ] This study intends to produce performant activated carbon from peat through optimal method and conditions. The choice of the physical activation method has been made owing to the relative simplicity of the process and the production technology. Concurrently, peat has been chosen to be the carbonaceous rock precursor due to its adsorption property, its affluence and its availability. Performed in the National Centre for Industrial and Technological Research (CNRIT), production test and laboratory experiments allowed to determine the main properties of the source material and those of the product which guarantee the performance of the activated carbon. The attributes of the product obtained through the sustained carbonization-activation method are specified by an experimental characterization of the activated carbon to estimate the value of its specific area and performance.
