    [ EN ] The Malagasy society often falls between contradictory situations. Such a contradiction is visible in rural societies in general, and is not limited to the Bezanozano society alone. The existence of overlapping cultures everywhere provokes the existence of two contradictory customs : the local customs confronted with new customs. Because of that, there are two competing forces, the legal power and the ancestral power (native, the invisible power) ; the integration between these two aspects, the art of linking the ancestors and the living (synergy), and the life in general (symbiosis). Such a fact is the way to know the claim of self-determination in the management of the community’s (fokonolona) business. Failure to link these two contradictory aspects causes a conflict between the keepers of the ancestral customs, those who abide by the local customs which have their value, too, and, on the other side, the government’s power. The government strives t respect the local customs (beliefs, nature’s power, “songo”, taboo, ancestral customs, circumcision, etc.) in the envisaged development plan.

Ny zavatra ezahan’ny fanjakana dia ny fanomezana lanja ny fomban-tany (ny finoana, ny herin’ny zavaboary, ny songo, ny fady, ny fombandrazana, ny famorana, sns.) eo amin’ny lamim-pivoarana izay kendrena atao.
