    [ EN ] The author presents here two places of phallic cult he has discovered in the region of Fianarantsoa. The discovery of physical vestiges on the place (stone monuments-deposits of ritual materials) is a proof of the ancient character of the cult still practiced until the present time. The first sanctuary is consecrated to a legendary personage by the name of Rafilokana or Rafirokana who had been famous for his skills as a great seducer and his sexual performances. A “vatolahy” shaped like a male organ stands on the site. Conversely, the second sanctuary bears the name of a woman : Ralavao. This time, as a physical evidence of the ritual, one can see a “tatao” that is a heap of stones piled up the form of a cone. In both cases, the purpose of the custom consists in bringing to the base of the monument pieces of wood shaped like a penis, and in offering prayers in order to have an organ of the same size as the model presented and very often well developed.

Ny toerana faharoa kosa dia mitondra ny anarand-Ralavao, izay vehivavy fantatry ny maro tamin’ny hatsaran-tarehiny sy ny fitiavany ny lehilahy sakaizany. Vato nangonina natao tatao kosa no hita amin’io toerana io. Ny fomba fanao rehefa mangata-pitahiana amin’ny toerana toy itony dia mitondra tapa-kazo misary taovam-pananahan-dehilahy araka izay endrika tiany nananana ho azy.
