  [ EN ] The study of marriages in the Antsiranana canton permitted firstly to bring to light the problems set up in operating the datas of registry office : state of keeping the registers, deficiencies and inaccuracies of informations. But those difficulties are not insurmountable and some aspects of marriage rate could be drawn for the period 1913-1939 : malagasy circles affected by civil marriage ; marriage are relatively late for men but early for women ; different factors determining the spouse’s choice.
