  [FRS] Cet article est un exercice de confrontation de sources sur le zébu pour connaître l’histoire du terroir de Sandrandahy. Le passé de cette commune rurale de l’actuelle région d’Amoron’i Mania se raconte à travers la tradition orale, la littérature orale, les vestiges archéologiques et les pratiques culturelles qui toutes évoquent le zébu. Les premières installations humaines durables dans la région remontent aux 15è -18è siècles et forgent les premières représentations de la population de Sandrandahy Fisakana Atsimondrano, une branche du groupe Betsileo, sur le zébu. Le terroir de Sandrandahy s’est créé un univers culturel autour du zébu qui est à la fois un bien et une identité.

  [ENG] This paper is an exercise of confrontation of the zebu sources for the history of the land of Sandrandahy. The past of this rural community in the current region of Amoron’i Mania tells through oral tradition, oral literature, the archaeological and the cultural practices that all evoke the zebu. The first sustainable human facilities in the region date back to centuries 15th – 18th and forge the first representations of the people of Sandrandahy Fisakana Atsimondrano, a branch of the Betsileo, on the zebu group. The land of Sandrandahy created a cultural universe around the zebu that is both a good and an identity.
