  [FR] Créé à la fin du XIXe siècle selon la conception occidentale du cimetière « hors les murs », celui de Tananarive se trouve au Nord Est de la capitale à Anjanahary. De l’époque coloniale à l’Indépendance cette cité des morts à l’usage des vivants a toujours été un espace socialement différencié. Des problèmes peuvent aujourd’hui apparaître, comme la rupture de la chaîne des générations ou la prise en charge des lieux par la Municipalité.

  [EN] Created at the end of the XIXth century according to the Western conception of the cemetery outside the town, that of Antananarivo is located in theNorth-East of the capital city at Anjanahary. From the colonial period to Independence, that death area used by the living has always been a socially differentiated one. Nowadays problems may arise such as descent extinction or the taking care of the place by the Town Council.
