[ EN ] Coffee has always been an important crop in the economy of Madagascar. A decreasing production of coffee led to the creation of two organizations specialized in the promotion of its culture and for its sale after Madagascar’s independence. These were first “Caisse de stabilisation des prix des cafés” created in 1961 which determined the sale prices of coffee, facilitate its evacuation and sold it abroad ; the « Operation coffee », working since 1966 and aiming at improving the quality of the plant and the preparation of the product ; and lastly the “FOFIFA” though lacking the financial means and the materials necessary for its functioning, is an organization doing research about coffee-culture. 90% of the culture itself are in the hands of a small peasantry tilling an area less than one hectare. Now, paid work is mainly used but different forms of mutual help are still wide spread. Cultivation methods have remained rudimentary, which is a factor of meagre output and is prejudiciable to the quality of the product. Coffee-culture is now confronted with various problems : it is more and more difficult to evacuate the product, the prices are too low, which discourages the producer. Lastly, everyone – not only techniciens – should take an active part in the promotion of coffee-culture, namely central administration, local government.

[ MLA ] Tsy nitsahatra ny nanana toerana manokana ny kafe teo amin’ny toe-karen’i Madagasikara. Ny fihemoran’ny vokatra taorian’ny nahazoana ny fahaleovantena dia nanosika ny fitondrana hanangana sampan-draharaha roa hampandroso ny voly kafe, hanatsara ny fanondranana ny vokatra sy ny famarotana azy. Ny “Caisse de stabilisation des prix des cafés” niasa nanomboka tamin’ny 1961 izay mametra ny vidin’ny kafe, manamora ny fakana azy avy eo amin’ny toeram-pamokarana ary mivarotra azy any ivelany. Ny “Opération Café” kosa no niandraikitra nanomboka tamin’ny 1966 ny fanatsarana ny masom-boly sy ny fanamainana ny vokatra. Ny FOFIFA no tokony hiandraikitra ny fikarohana momba ny voly kafe anefa tsy ampy fitaovana sy vola ilainy amin’ny asany io sampan-draharaha io. 90% n’ny voly kafe dia eo am-pelatanan’ny mpamboly madinika izay tsy manana tany voavoly kafe ampy 1 ha akory. Na dia misy aza ny fampiasana mpikarama dia mbola be mpankafy ny findramana eo amin’ny fanatanterahana ny asa. Ny fomba famboly indray dia mbola tsotra dia tsotra ary tsy ampy ka mahatonga ny vokatra ho kely, ary mbola mila fanatsarana. Amin’izao fotoana izao dia misedra fahasahiranana samihafa ny fambolena kafe : ny olana eo amin’ny fanondranana ny vokatra avy eo amin’ny toera-pambolena, ny mahadiso ambany loatra ny ividianana ny vokatra amin’ny mpamboly ka mahaketraka azy. Farany, ny fanatsarana ny fambolena kafe dia tsy tokony ho andraikitry ny teknisiana samy irery : voakasika izany koa ny fanjakana foibe, ny vondrombahoaka itsinjaram-pahefana, sns…
