  [ EN ] This paper makes the inventory of the origin of state formation in central Africa. If all political regimes derive from a single system at the origin, that of the eastern Bantee on the eve of their expansion four or five thousand years ago, one can no longer envisage that there existed a single model of state formation, of the well known Kongo type. Several factors (climatic, religious, demographic, political, etc.) have caused multiple series of transformation from the dominating Houses. We cannot but establish the failure of the synchronic typologies.
