  [ENG] G. DONQUE successfully clears up the question of the sea-routes-probobly followed by the Proto-Malagasy. Any deterministic inter-pretation, whether positive or negative, should be rejected. However,the routes along the south Asiatic and African coasts and across the Mozambic Channel seem more practicable than a route following the great South-Equatorial current, though this latter hypothesis should not be entirely discarded.
