  [ EN ] The family systems, both the household family structures and the latent family values, their evolution during the colonial period and since independence, influence the collective perception and representation of the public and community authority, even ideological sensitivities. Such systems make up the specific anthropological basis of the political cultures of the societies under scrutiny. This interaction between demographic evolution and political mentalities is analyzed through two national cases which present common features : a certain state continuity and similar demographic constraints, though showing noticeable differences, different anthropological structures.
